Kitchen/diner Interior Design Project: Stella Riverside

The Brief

Second project finished for my lovely clients Simon and Lindsay from Stella Riverside. Such a compliment to have a client so delighted with their project that they invite you to do another for them.

This time the project was full interior design consultancy for their kitchen/diner and utility room.

Simon and Lindsay wanted to give their kitchen a fresh look without changing the actual units as they were perfectly fine. The look they were hoping to achieve was more up to date and sophisticated so they could dine and entertain more in the space.

We agreed a colour pallete for the scheme, suggestions for window treatments and artwork and I was given the go ahead to choose all the accessories. The Mood board was presented and signed off with the client having their own copy for reference and the digital mood board was used by both of us to agree the details.

I brought in the trades to complete the decorating. The room was prepared, one wall stripped of wallpaper and the whole room and utility were painted in Cornforth White, with white gloss woodwork.

For the window treatments I suggested full curtains for the patio doors with a white wooden curtain pole and a wide wooden blind finished off with a stylish pelmet to match the curtains for the smaller window. The curtains and pelmet were expertly made by my usual seamstress, Susan, from Style and Sew using Sophie Allport striped grey Sandford fabric.

In the utility I added new shelves and hooks to create a more stylish storage and added kubu baskets and a new light fitting to finish the look.

To bring the whole space together and personalise it we chose map pictures of 3 of their favourite destinations and a large chandelier was hung over the dining table for maximum impact. Accessories were added including a large silver clock, Italian canisters, chopping boards and several glass and silver accessories including candles and votives, place settings and smaller items.

The space was fully styled and set for the client’s return.

It was a pleasure working on this project and working with Simon and Lindsay, look forward to working with them both again.

It looks like a show home and we don't want to touch anything. x"
